The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Pharmacy Assistants/Technicians to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Prepare, distribute and dispense pharmaceuticals under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Assist with inventory management in the pharmacy and in clinical areas
- Display knowledge of the 'Standards for Preparation of Pharmaceuticals in Australian Hospital Pharmacy Departments'
- Assist with the collation and maintenance of pharmacy data
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Certificate III as a Pharmacy Assistant / Community Pharmacy / Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support or an international equivalent
- A Certificate of Competency in 'HLTPHA001 - Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest' module
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Ability to work on a rostered/rotational basis and participate in the weekend and public holiday roster as required
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time, permanent part time, temporary full time and temporary part (multiple positions, hours negotiable, Temporary 6 months, with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $63921 - $67198 per annum / $2450.10 - 2575.70 per fortnight or $32.23 - 33.89 per hour

The Pharmacy Service provides medication management across the GCHHS, through inpatient units, outpatient clinics and in all facilities. Based in Southport and Robina.
