***Our Journey**:
***Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
**A Day in the Life**:
***Working as part of the Monash Medical Centre Food Services team, the main focus for a Food Services Assistant is on delivering an exceptional patient meal experience.
As a Food Service Assistant, you will be committed to work in a team environment dedicated to delivering outstanding service and have an individual approach to patient needs and willing to work within the values of Monash Health.
You must have a good understanding in:
- Diet codes and relevant and appropriate foods
- Food allergies, food intolerances, modified textures and fluids
- Cleaning within a food services environment from a food safety compliance
Responsibilities include; (but not limited to)
- Cleaning within a food services environment
- Kitchen hand duties (Scullery)
- Cleaning of kitchen equipment
- Tray Services and distribution of meals to patients
**On a Personal Level**:
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.
- A proactive approach and team player
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete while working alone or as part of a cohesive team.
**What You Need**:
- Food Handling Certificate (SITXFSA001) - Essential
- _Previous experience working in a Food Services within Healthcare or a commercial environment (Desirable)
- _A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment (Desirable)
- Excellent understanding of diet codes and relevant and appropriate foods
- Excellent understanding of food allergies, food intolerances, modified textures and fluids
- A strong understanding of food safety
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
