About the Role
We are looking for a full-time, permanent Carer Support Caseworker to join our Griffith based team.
The successful person will be a motivated, will have outstanding communication skills and be a dedicated and passionate individual who is able to work autonomously and meet strict timeframes. We are looking for individuals who are 'out of the box' thinkers, who may have established networks within the community or someone who can demonstrate their potential to engage with foster carers.
The core focus of the role is to support and maintain a pool of authorised carers to ensure children and young people in care are provided with an environment that ensures their safety and wellbeing. The role will also support the work of the centralised carer engagement team in recruitment and assessment of new carers.
A typical day could include:
* Undertaking a home visit with a carer who needs support and developing a plan for them.
* Organising an event, training or support group for carers.
* Meeting a prospective new carer to review suitability and provide information on assessment processes.
* Maintaining required database records and respond to placement referrals.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
* Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability.
* Degree or diploma in Social Sciences or equivalent, or a minimum of 2 years' experience working with and supporting children, young persons, and carers.
* Demonstrated understanding of the causes and effects of trauma on children and young people.
* High level written and verbal communication skills and advance computer literacy including familiarity with client management systems.
* Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Current Driver's licence.
* Willing to undergo a National Police Check, Working with Children Check clearance and NDIS clearance.
