The First Nations Cancer & Wellbeing Research (FNCWR) program is offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate and community-minded individual to join our team as a Community Engagement Officer.
This role will see you working on innovative, community-driven projects that empower First Nations peoples and communities affected by cancer. You’ll help shape meaningful engagement strategies, foster strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensure research is translated into action where it matters most.
About This Chance
The position is a full-time (100), fixed-term position for up to 2 years. The base salary will be in the range $93,491 - $100,296 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6). This position is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women only, as a genuine occupational requirement recognising the importance of cultural knowledge, lived experience, and the contribution of women in the workplace to improving health outcomes.

About You
Genuine Occupational Requirement: The University of Queensland considers that to perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander woman.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, preferably in health care delivery or health research services
- Well-developed writing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible messages
