The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a Maternal and Child Health Nurse experienced in both clinical areas and leadership. If you are an experienced Maternal and Child Health (MCH) nurse leader and a passionate mentor with a strategic eye for supporting a growing community, then this job is for you. As part of the MCH leadership team you will help shape the future of our service.

The MCH Coordinator works with the MCH Leadership team in the implementation and application of service best practice, participating in MCH strategic and service planning, and budget review.

This role oversees the Universal, Enhanced and the MCH Administration teams. The position will report directly to the Manager Maternal and Child Health

Key Responsibilities

* Provide day to day leadership with a commitment to continuous improvement.

* Deliver a high-performance team culture characterised by empowerment, trust and respect through effective leadership, coaching and high-quality supervision.

* Ensure a high standard of service, consistent with Council and Government policy and Maternal and Child Health program standards.

* Provide accurate and timely reports, advice and support to management as requested as well as contribute to the annual budget and reporting process and monitor expenditure.

* Make decisions on the day to day running of the Maternal and Child Health service, to ensure optimum outcomes in all aspects of service delivery, Government policy and the Maternal and Child Health program standards and guidelines.

* Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of forward leaning policies and procedures as well as a plan that strongly positions the Maternal and Child Health services for population growth.

* Deliver and contribute to Council goals as outlined in the Council and Wellbeing Plan.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

* Current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and have a qualification in Maternal and Child Health nursing that is recognised in Victoria.

* Have experience in an MCH leadership role.

* Be an experienced MCH Nurse.

* Experience in all aspects of the Maternal and Child Health service with strong knowledge and understanding of current theory and practice and legislative issues relevant to the service.

* Strong team engagement skills to drive an emotionally intelligent, supportive and high-performance culture.

* Work independently and make clear, precise, and evidence-based decisions, using service data related to the day-to-day operation of the service.

* Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.

* Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
