Banyule City Council is seeking a Digital Communications and Content Advisor to bring our community stories to life and help shape the way we communicate across our digital channels. As part of our dynamic Communications team, you’ll be driving Council’s digital channels (social media, e-news, advertising channels and campaigns) to consistently deliver clear, engaging and audience-focused content. You’ll own the end-to-end delivery of digital storytelling, social media activity and small-scale campaigns, whilst also providing expert digital communications advice to drive continuous improvement across the organisation. Why you’ll love this role and what you’ll do: This role plays a direct role in shaping how our community (130,000 people!) experience and understand Council - from the major projects we're delivering to the day-to-day community updates. You’ll Take Genuine Ownership Of Council's Social Media And Digital Newsletters, While Working As Part Of a Small Team To Deliver On Campaigns That Influence Our Community. Some Of Things You’ll Do Include Crafting engaging digital content for our website, social media, e‑newsletters and online campaigns Leading, scheduling and publishing content across Council’s social media channels Monitoring online communities, responding to public comments, and supporting a positive brand voice Producing and editing photography and video tailored for digital audiences Leading paid digital advertising campaigns across social and digital channels Telling meaningful stories about our community, services and projects Translating complex information into simple, accessible and impactful messaging Providing expert advice to business units on digital communications, content creation and social media best practice Supporting campaign delivery and collaborating across the Communications & Engagement team About you - what you’ll bring/what we are looking for: Extensive experience using social media in a professional/business environment Strong digital storytelling, writing and editing skills Ability to design, publish and manage content across websites and digital platforms Strong understanding of analytics tools and using data to enhance content performance Experience delivering successful communication outcomes Ability to work proactively, creatively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Photography, videography and/or graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite desirable) For detailed information please see the position description and candidate information pack. Salary from $98,255.03 to $106,820.88 per annum plus super. 26 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer/4 weeks of paid parental leave – partner.
