Opportunity
Our small, collaborative Reception/Scheduling team have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, well spoken & motivated individual to work alongside our team of Administration staff in supporting the hospital's Admissions and Reception. You must be able to thrive in a busy environment, with sometimes competing and unplanned workloads, and able to proactively meet any challenge within deadlines. The scope of the role involves but is not limited to responsibilities such as:
* Manage a busy reception desk
* Answer and redirect calls
* Prepare admission & discharge paperwork
* Conduct follow up requests and make reminder calls for visits
* Maintain accurate and effective record management systems including preparation of medical record
* Schedule upcoming procedures as well as liaising with doctors, PA's/secretaries
* Perform Health Fund Checks as required
* Processing payments with EFTPOS machine, invoicing appointments, and receipting for operations
* Coordinate with staff from other departments
* Complete other clerical tasks such as data entry
* Providing general administration duties as required
The successful candidate will have:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong attention to detail
* Empathetic understanding and ability to provide the uttermost respect and support for all patients, doctors and staff.
* Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
* Works well independently and within a team
* Previous experience in private hospital administration (Desired)
* Previous experience in theatre scheduling (Highly Desired)
