We're looking for a Collections Officer to join our Risk team in Bundaberg. This role is ideal for someone with a positive, bubbly attitude who is comfortable having conversations, open to feedback, and keen to learn and grow in a supportive team environment.
The Opportunity
As a Collections Officer, you'll be responsible for contacting borrowers whose accounts are in early arrears. You'll work closely with customers to understand their situation, issue required notices, identify potential hardship support, and ensure all actions are completed accurately and in line with policy and legislation.
Your Role
* Contact borrowers regarding accounts in arrears and overdue rates
* Collect on accounts up to 59 days in arrears
* Issue required notices and documentation
* Identify customers who may be eligible for hardship assistance
* Maintain accurate records within the core banking system
* Support effective and compliant collections processes
* Complete general collections and administrative duties as required
* Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Collections Supervisor or leadership
What You Bring
* Experience in collections, banking, or customer service is desirable, but not essential
* A good attitude, friendly approach, and willingness to engage with customers
* Strong communication skills and confidence on the phone
* Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
* Ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and follow procedures
* Competency using computer systems and Microsoft Office (training provided)
