Senior Software Engineer – Azure Kubernetes Service
We are building world-class container management and orchestration services for Microsoft Azure on both Linux and Windows platforms, enabling customers to deploy and manage applications at scale. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on container technologies and orchestration using Kubernetes and develop DevOps tools that make it easier for people to build, deploy, and scale their software on the Azure cloud.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
Advance the capabilities of Kubernetes and auxiliary components on Azure.
Improve quality of service for Azure Kubernetes Service.
Accelerate development velocity for all engineers.
Balance pragmatism with vision; deliver continuous improvements to the team's process and codebase.
Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Golang, Java, JavaScript, or Python (OR equivalent experience).
5+ years experience in commercial software development, including building, shipping, and operating reliable distributed solutions; experience with container technologies and orchestration using Kubernetes.
1+ year(s) experience designing and implementing scalable systems, ensuring reliability and performance in production environments.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements; required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related technical field) AND 8+ years technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Golang, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience coding in the above languages.
1+ year(s) experience working with Linux, engaging in Site Reliability Engineering practices to ensure reliability and operational excellence, and using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies.
