Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Litigation Lawyer to join our team in the Department of Police and Emergency Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking complex litigation on behalf of the department, with a focus on matters related to family violence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough investigations into alleged incidents of family violence
* Prepare and present cases in court to prosecute offenders
* Provide legal advice and support to departmental staff
* Develop and implement strategies to prevent and respond to family violence incidents
Requirements:
* Admitted as a Barrister or a practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania with at least 2 years relevant post-admission experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable Requirements:
* Experience in litigating family violence cases
* Knowledge of Tasmanian legislation and case law related to family violence
