Your role
Join us as a finance expert driving accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight! You'll prepare Early Close and Year‐End financial statements, manage accounts payable and receivable, and provide trusted advice on complex financial matters. Lead the development of organisation‐wide financial policies and systems, coordinate audit responses, and ensure full compliance with NSW Treasury and Audit Office of NSW requirements—your expertise will keep our financial operations strong and transparent.
What You'll Do
* Prepare and review Early Close and Year‐End statutory financial statements with supporting work papers.
* Oversee General Ledger close‐offs, accruals, period‐end journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, supporting and developing your team.
* Provide expert financial analysis and advice on complex issues, identifying improvements in processes.
* Coordinate financial reporting to NSW Treasury and other statutory returns, ensuring deadlines and compliance are met.
* Lead the Agency's response to audits and prepare key briefing notes, reports, and policies.
* Review fixed asset registers and related reports for financial reporting.
What We're Looking For
* Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or similar, with CPA/CA progress or equivalent experience.
* Experience preparing statutory financial statements in government or large organisations.
* Sharp analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards, Treasury policies, and compliance.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Organisation and time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
* Public sector experience is a plus.
