Job Title: Disability Support Team Leader

The Disability Support Team Leader will lead, mentor and supervise a team of Disability Support Workers to deliver professional support services. This role is integral to the middle management team, providing leadership in supporting disability support staff to meet individual needs.

This position requires effective communication skills, utilizing positive communication to manage the team including training, supervision, and administration duties such as rostering and reporting.

The Disability Support Team Leader is responsible for ensuring that all reporting and administrative requirements meet service and support standards and are delivered in line with relevant legislation and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Coordinate and manage daily operations of support services, including formal supervision of a team of Disability Support Workers
* Ensure the team complies with Disability Services Act Standards and other relevant legislation
* Administer staff rosters to optimize efficiency and maximize staff satisfaction
* Respond to roster inquiries from Support Staff
* Communicate with participants, families, carers about roster/staff changes
* Manage administrative activities related to rosters, including updating staff details and availability
* Participate in on-call after hours roster as needed
* Attend and participate in staff meetings
* Attend relevant training or stakeholder meetings
* Support Service Manager in developing and monitoring program budgets
* Perform other job-related tasks requested by management

Requirements:

* Certificate IV relevant to the work required
* Previous experience in the industry to undertake the range of activities required
* Working knowledge of databases, software, and MS Office suite
* Some knowledge of the SCHADS Award
* Positive communication and interpersonal skills
* Effective time management skills
* Well-developed problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of issues experienced by people living with disabilities, their families and carers
