Senior People Business Partner

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

* Ongoing Full-Time
* Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
* Clerk Grade 11/12 - $149,739 to $173,174 plus superannuation and leave loading

About the role

* Partner with executives to deliver people strategies that lift workforce performance and support business goals
* Coach leaders through complex people matters, change and workforce issues with clear, practical advice
* Analyse workforce data, drive insight-led solutions and improve culture, capability and team outcomes

The Senior People Business Partner plays a critical role in driving business outcomes through people initiatives by providing expert Human Resources (HR) advice and guidance, delivering strategy, supporting the senior leadership team, building capability and supporting organisational design. The role is critical to ensuring alignment between business operations and Talent, Capability and Performance practices and objectives in partnership with the Department's executives.

About you

* Bring strong HR partner experience in a large, complex organisation
* Build trusted relationships with executives and influence at all levels
* Solve complex people issues with sound judgement and practical advice
* Use workforce data and insights to drive better people outcomes
* Thrive in fast-paced environments and balance competing priorities
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience.
* A valid Working With Children Check for paid employment.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
