Therapeutic Youth Worker
Our team provides essential support services to individuals with disabilities, young people, and children in out-of-home care, as well as their families and communities.
We are seeking dedicated professionals who can make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people. As a member of our care team, you will play a crucial role in assisting children and young people to fulfill their potential and achieve what is important to them.
The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing daily care and support to meet the needs of children and young people, including personal hygiene, health and wellbeing, medical, transportation, recreational, and educational support needs.
* Maintaining a quality care environment that is safe, clean, and personalized to those that live there.
* Documenting events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care on the child or young person's journey with us.
* Ensuring children and young people's NDIS plans are accessible for them while in our care.
* Utilizing trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision for children and young people.
* Providing positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions, and safety to children and young people who may experience events of escalation and crisis.
* Encouraging social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
* Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
* Advocating for the rights and needs of the children and young people.
* Supporting young people in developing life skills, including education, vocational training, and independent living skills.
* Promoting positive relationships and connections for children and young people with family, culture, and community.
About You:
We are looking for team members who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. You should be experienced in supporting individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence.
You will understand the importance of consistency and stability in the lives of children and young people, adapting responses and utilizing a range of support strategies. Be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting with a deep commitment to safeguarding vulnerable children and young people.
