Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Earth Science Specialist to join our organization in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct geological and geotechnical logging of soils and rocks in both office and field settings throughout Australia and overseas, utilizing advanced technical skills and equipment.
\
2. Plan and supervise detailed field investigations, including drilling and analyzing samples, as well as managing and supervising trial pitting, drilling, and in-situ monitoring operations.
\
3. Consult geological maps and aerial photographs to advise on site selection and development, applying knowledge of geological principles and spatial analysis techniques.
\
4. Undertake desk studies and assess sources of site information prior to field investigations, incorporating data from various sources and using analytical skills to draw conclusions.
\
5. Collate data and produce factual reports, presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
\
6. Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, providing expert advice and guidance on geological matters.
\
7. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, building trust and rapport through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

8. Minimum 1 year experience in consultancy and site work, preferably in a similar role or industry.
\
9. Must be based in Australia with full working rights.
\
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
\
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
\
12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
\
13. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is an advantage, as is having a PhD or other postgraduate studies.
