Overview
Payroll Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager role at Bendigo Bank. This is a permanent full-time position with flexible location: Adelaide, Bendigo, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney. We offer a hybrid work model with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. Responsibilities
* Lead a small payroll governance team and contribute to the Bank's objective to demonstrate compliance across pay-related systems and processes with Commonwealth, State and Territory workplace laws, including legislation and industrial instruments.
* Ensure payroll processes are robust, compliant and efficient, and that employees are paid correctly across all industrial agreements and awards.
* Interpret and apply various employment agreements (e.g., Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards) and navigate the complexities of a large-scale payroll system.
* Establish and maintain a robust payroll compliance and governance framework; lead assurance activities; and partner with senior stakeholders to identify, mitigate and prevent pay-related risks.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement and quality within payroll operations.
* Collaborate with the People and Culture division and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader HR systems, policies and practices.
Qualifications
* Significant senior payroll or project leadership experience, with direct reports or resource management responsibilities.
* Demonstrated experience working with complex, large-scale payrolls.
* Expertise in payroll compliance, quality assurance, and risk mitigation.
* Strong data analytics skills with the ability to interpret and present findings.
* Proven ability to interpret and apply various employment agreements (e.g., Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards).
* Understanding of how HR systems, policies and practice interact in a corporate and customer service environment.
* Experience developing and implementing governance, frameworks and processes to support industrial compliance.
* Hands-on experience with SAP payroll systems, SuccessFactors, and Time and Attendance platforms.
* Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative approach to solution-making.
* Intermediate to advanced skills in the MS Office suite.
