An independent corporate Commonwealth entity is seeking a versatile Community and Stakeholder Adviser (APS6) to join their Corporate Affairs, Communication and Engagement division. This role is a unique opportunity to support the development and delivery of a major infrastructure project. Based in North Sydney, you will work in a fast-paced, high-profile environment where your communication skills will directly impact the success of the project.
As an all-round communications and engagement practitioner, you will deliver integrated services across the project lifecycle, from planning and property acquisition to construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Craft clear, accurate, and compelling materials including newsletters, factsheets, and digital content
* Act as a primary point of contact for impacted communities, ensuring their voices are integrated into project outcomes
* Proactively mitigate risks, resolve concerns, and manage sensitive or escalated community issues to build trust
* Participate in community activities such as door knocking, community meetings, and stakeholder briefings
* Monitor community sentiment and trends to provide actionable insights for strategic planning
Key Requirements
* 3 to 5 years in community engagement or stakeholder relations, ideally within the transport, infrastructure, or government sectors
* Strong understanding of inclusive communication practices and strategic engagement in a government context
* Exceptional written and verbal skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and stakeholder engagement databases or CRM systems
* The ability to apply sound judgement in high-pressure or reactive contexts
Position Details & Eligibility
* Classification: APS 6.
* Work Arrangements: On-site in Sydney with flexible options; regular travel and occasional evening/weekend work are required.
* Mandatory Requirements:
o Australian Citizenship.
o Ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance.
o Current Australian Driver's License and Working With Children Check.
o Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
o Satisfactory Police Check.
