We are seeking a detail‐oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join team. This role plays a key part in supporting procurement and accounts payable processes while contributing to core finance activities including reconciliations, reporting, and month‐end close.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Liaise with Ship Operations crew on required purchase orders and accounts payable processes (invoice coding, liaising with shared services team for processing and payments)
* Perform Bank and Supplier Reconciliations.
* Maintain Tax and Accounting Fixed Assets register (addition and disposal of assets and reconciling depreciation reports with trial balance), including creation of new assets and review of fixed asset clearing account
* Perform end-of-month processes including general ledger and subsidiary ledger reconciliations.
* Assist with end-of-month journals for closing of monthly accounts including intercompany entries.
* Review entertainment expenses each month with a view to identifying and preparing relevant FBT return information.
* Assist with external auditor year-end audit requests and queries.
* Provide backup support during periods when the Head of Finance & Admin. is away and work collaboratively with Group shared service staff as required.
* Assist with the preparation of Monthly Management reports, Quarterly/Annual Financial Accounts and any other ad-hoc Business Unit reports.
* Assist the Head of Finance & Admin. with other finance related activities, and any other projects as requested.
* Be proactive and continuously review processes in order to drive efficiencies and ensure the financial accounting procedures are documented and up to date.
About You
You will bring:
* Degree qualified or studying towards
* Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role
* Sound understanding of accounts payable, general ledger, and reconciliation processes
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
* The ability to work collaboratively with operational teams and shared services
* A proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach
