About The Role
As a Health Information Manager / Clinical Coder, you will clinically code inpatient episodes to an agreed quantity and quality within internal deadlines. You'll be supported by our clinical coding auditors and educators, who provide feedback and professional development opportunities to help you perform at your best. You'll be part of a dynamic team that thrives in a challenging environment, where collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation are valued.

Key Responsibilities

* Code inpatient episodes, resolve documentation queries, and address data quality issues (PICQ, HACs, VAED, RISQ)
* Ensure correct admission criteria, episode classification, and submit complete cancer registrations
* Participate in coding audits, manage tasks via health information software, and contribute to team meetings
* Keep up to date with Australian Coding Standards, National/State coding advice, and engage in professional development
* Maintain mandatory OHS training and report incidents in line with Barwon Health policies

What We're Looking For

* Degree in Health Information Management or recognised Clinical Coding qualification; eligible for full HIMAA membership
* Strong knowledge of Australian Coding Standards, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement
* Desirable: ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS experience, clinical coding audits, data analysis skills, and building professional relationships
