The Role
In this role, you will design and build robust APIs and service layers using Microsoft .NET technologies, ensuring smooth integration with data stored in Azure Cosmos DB. You will also develop user interfaces using React within a micro‐frontend structure, supporting both Windows and iOS platforms. You'll work closely with architects, designers, and other developers to deliver scalable, maintainable, and secure application components.
This is a contract position of an initial 3 months with potential to extend. The position is based in Perth and cannot be performed remotely.
Responsibilities and skills
* Design, build, and maintain backend APIs and services using Microsoft .NET.
* Develop responsive and modular front‐end features using React and micro‐frontend principles.
* Integrate front‐end and backend components with Azure Cosmos DB and other data sources.
* Ensure solutions are performant, secure, and aligned with architectural standards.
* Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement activities.
* Maintain high levels of quality through automated testing, CI/CD practices, and strong code ownership.
* Identify and resolve technical issues across the API and front‐end layers.
Experience
* 5+ years of hands‐on software development experience at a senior level.
* Strong capability in API development using Microsoft .NET frameworks.
* Solid experience with front‐end engineering, ideally with React or similar libraries.
* Working knowledge of Azure Cosmos DB or comparable NoSQL data stores.
* Familiarity with distributed systems, micro‐frontends, and modern web architectures.
* Strong grounding in CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployment workflows.
* Experience with automated testing practices across API and UI layers.
* Excellent problem‐solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
* Comfortable collaborating in a team‐focused and highly interactive environment.
* Exposure to .NET 8 or similar modern frameworks is beneficial.
* Experience contributing to medium‐ to large‐scale technology projects.
