About the program:

AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.

Your responsibilities will include:

We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer (E3 Specialist) to join the AIR6500 Specialty Engineering Team, supporting one of Australia's most significant integrated air and missile defence programs.

In this senior technical leadership role, you will act as the E3 authority for the program, providing whole-of-system oversight across EMC/EMI, EMSEC, RADHAZ and Co-site interference, ensuring electromagnetic integrity from design and analysis through to integration, test and acceptance.

You will work closely with engineering teams, program leadership, Defence stakeholders and external partners to deliver safe, secure and compliant capability.

Key responsibilities

* Lead whole-of-system EMC/EMI, EMSEC, RADHAZ and Co-site engineering, analysis, testing and assurance
* Develop, review and approve E3 plans, CDRLs and technical artefacts
* Provide E3 SME input to system design, engineering changes, risk assessments and cost estimates
* Lead E3 impact assessments and resolve anomalies, system changes and contract variations
* Provide technical authority and oversight for integration, test campaigns and system acceptance activities
* Collaborate with AIR6500, Defence, industry and regulatory stakeholders to achieve compliant outcomes

About you:

You are a highly experienced E3 specialist who knows what good looks like in complex Defence programs, with the credibility to lead technical decisions, guide teams and influence senior stakeholders.

Essential

* Significant experience across EMC/EMI, EMSEC, Co-site Analysis and RADHAZ
* Strong application of systems engineering processes on complex programs
* Experience with configuration management and engineering baselines
* Ability and willingness to lead, mentor and grow E3 capability
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
* Australian NV1 security clearance and ability to access Export Controlled material

Desirable

* EMSEC experience on ASDEFCON or high-security programs
* Experience with E3 testing, Co-site analysis, RADHAZ and RF design principles
* Exposure to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
* Knowledge of Agile Engineering methodologies
