About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Geologist to join our integrated and multi-disciplinary team. This role will provide you with interesting technical challenges and the opportunity to work closely with other talented professionals committed to delivering high-quality engineering and geoscience services.
This is a technical role focused on engineering geology for mining projects, consistent with your experience/background. You will become familiar with mining methods and applications in a relatively short period of time.
The key responsibilities include:
* Fulfilling a technical role that focuses on engineering geology for mining projects;
* Providing technical expertise, including conceptual and detailed investigations for foundations conditions, in-situ material properties, construction materials, and construction monitoring of mine waste tailings and waste rock storage facilities;
* Investigating civil mining infrastructure, including water/sediment dams, roads, and plant site earthworks and foundations;
* Conducting desktop assessments, primarily geological/geotechnical data collection, manipulation, interpretation, management, and reporting;
* Contributing to engineering reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and cost estimates;
* Mentoring junior team members, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their technical skills and professional development;
* Operating within and in accordance with our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Geology or Engineering Geology or a related field;
* RPGeo certification or eligibility to apply within 24 months of joining;
* Ideally, 10 years of experience in geo-hazard site assessments and geotechnical site investigation; geological and geomorphological field mapping; remote sensing techniques applicable to mapping hazardous terrain; ground model development, and construction monitoring;
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
* Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
* Valid driver's license is a must.
