Job Description
* Lead architecture and design decisions for the Android codebase.
* Mentor junior team members and promote engineering best practices.
* Drive performance security and reliability improvements.
* Collaborate on cross-platform strategies and technical roadmapping.
Requirements
* 5+ years of professional Android development experience with a strong portfolio of published apps preferably in health/wellness.
* Expert proficiency in Kotlin and Java and deep knowledge of the Android SDK AndroidX libraries and modern development tools.
* Advanced experience with Jetpack Compose Material Design and custom UI/UX solutions.
* Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns MVVM MVI Clean Architecture and dependency injection Hilt/Dagger.
* Experience integrating external APIs and SDKs REST/GraphQL Health Connect etc. and handling data synchronisation.
* Proficiency in asynchronous programming Kotlin Coroutines Flow or RxJava and multithreading.
* Expertise in performance optimisation memory profiling and debugging tools Android Profiler LeakCanary.
* Solid experience with testing unit integration and UI tests using JUnit Espresso or Compose Testing and test automation.
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools GitHub Actions Jenkins Bitrise and version control workflows Git.
* Excellent leadership communication and collaboration skills with experience mentoring junior engineers.
