About the project

The About Me Project delivers a capacity-building program supporting people living with brain injury and other disabilities. The program builds participants' insight, capacity, and confidence across four key areas of life: healthcare, education, employment, and disability support. Participants are supported to communicate decisions and choices and to exercise their human rights, including through the option to record a personalised "About Me" video.

The Employ Me Project sits within the About Me framework and delivers the employment module as a standalone program. It supports participants to pursue employment, volunteering, or further education goals and works with identified cohorts including people with brain injury in rural and remote Tasmania and people with cognitive impairment involved in the criminal justice system in Tasmania.

The About Me Project is funded by the Motor Accident Insurance Board (Tasmania).

The Employ Me Project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability, and Ageing.

Position summary

The About Me Project Officer is responsible for delivering and supporting the implementation of the About Me and Employ Me programs. This position is primarily aligned to the Employ Me module, while contributing to broader About Me program activities as required.

The role involves engaging with participants, facilitating sessions both in person and online, coordinating the development of participant videos, and contributing to ongoing program development through co-design and consultation. The Project Officer builds and maintains strong stakeholder relationships, ensures timely and accurate data collection and reporting, and supports related BIAT programs. The role requires strong communication, planning, and organisational skills, and a commitment to inclusive, person-centred practice.
