Job Title:
Strategic Legal Advisor
Job Description:
The Anindilyakwa Land Council represents the Traditional Owners of the Groote Archipelago. The council is a 'future-forward' entity, directed by the 14 clans of the region, enabling the Anindilyakwa people to take full advantage of opportunities and technology in the 21st century while preserving land, language, and culture.
The vision of the council is to protect, maintain, and promote Anindilyakwa culture; invest in the present to build a self-sufficient future; and create pathways for youth to stand in both worlds.
The role involves guiding and supporting the delivery of ambitious community-driven outcomes economically, culturally, and legislatively, built on decades of consultation, planning, and self-determined vision.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a progressive policy reform agenda while honouring the rights, voices, and aspirations of Traditional Owners of the Groote Archipelago.
