Role Responsibilities
As the Procurement Manager, you will shape and enhance our procurement function, sourcing over 90% of ingredients from Australian producers. You will manage supplier relationships, optimize costs, and develop strategies aligned with our sustainability and growth goals. Your role includes sourcing directly from producers, mitigating supply risks, and implementing best procurement practices to support our mission of delivering high-quality, sustainable pet nutrition.
* Maintain and develop supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage performance.
* Implement cost reduction strategies, including direct sourcing and leveraging purchasing power.
* Design and optimize procurement processes, systems, and tools for efficiency and scalability.
* Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure a reliable supply chain as we grow.
* Analyze procurement data and generate reports to inform decision-making.
* Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and other teams to align procurement strategies.
Requirements
* 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in the food industry.
* Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
* Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate effectively.
* Experience in cost optimization and data-driven decision-making.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
* Knowledge of commodities markets, procurement trends, and risk management.
* Proficiency with ERPs (Netsuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
