The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Case Managers to join a newly established Eligibility team within our Workers' Compensation Nominal Insurer business. This team has been created to support upcoming legislative reforms that have changed how workers compensation claims—particularly psychological injury claims—are assessed and determined. These are pivotal roles at QBE, focused on delivering fair, consistent and compliant claims outcomes in a complex and evolving legislative environment and are centred on eligibility assessment and claim decision‐making rather than end‐to‐end case management. The Case Managers within this team will be highly organised, confident in their judgement, and comfortable working within a structured, process‐driven environment.

About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch. We're an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we're big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It's an exciting time. We're building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner. What if you could have a positive impact – at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you'll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Your new role

* Assess and manage eligibility and liability decisions for high‐volume, high‐turnover claims within the Nominal Insurer scheme.
* Apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and frameworks to support accurate, timely, and compliant decision‐making in line with legislative reform requirements.
* Manage work across competing priorities without a traditional portfolio, responding efficiently to changing workloads and time‐critical tasks.
* Communicate clearly and empathetically with injured workers, employers, legal representatives, and internal stakeholders regarding eligibility outcomes.
* Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in line with regulatory, contractual, and audit requirements.
* Contribute to a newly formed team environment, supporting continuous improvement and helping embed new ways of working as reforms are implemented.

About You

* Demonstrated experience in workers' compensation, CTP, legal, or disputes‐based claims environments, with exposure to eligibility, liability, or decision‐driven claim work.
* A strong understanding of legislative and statutory frameworks, with the ability to interpret and apply them confidently in a changing environment.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to perform under pressure in a high‐volume setting.
* Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex decisions in a fair and professional manner.
* Demonstrated resilience, sound judgement, and attention to detail when managing sensitive or time‐critical matters.
* A collaborative, adaptable mindset, with a willingness to learn and contribute to a newly formed team navigating change.

Benefits

* Hybrid Working – a mix of working from home and in the office to enhance your work/life balance.
* Free holistic wellbeing coaching, nutritional, confidential counselling, financial and legal advice.
* 18 weeks' gender‐equal flexible leave for all new parents, including paid super.

Rewards & Recognition

* 2025 Winner of Excellence in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award at the Insurance Business Australia Awards for our Respect@QBE program.
* 2023 Most Inclusive Workplace at the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) Awards.
* Ranked in the top ten in the AAGE Top Graduate Employers 2025 for medium sized program as voted by graduates.
