Job Opportunity: Pathology Courier
The role of a pathology courier is pivotal in the healthcare system, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of various medical samples, specimens, and equipment to laboratories across different locations.
As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multiple stops per day, maintaining patient confidentiality and integrity, while providing an exceptional level of service to our clients.
This position plays a vital role in supporting quality healthcare services to individuals within our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Pick up and deliver pathology samples, specimens, blood/blood products, X-rays, vaccines, and clinical waste from referring customers.
* Manage store stock levels for community needs.
* Communicate effectively with medical practitioners and liaise with the Medical Liaison Officer regarding store orders.
* Prepare and deliver reports, as well as maintain stock control in the main laboratory.
* Maintain patient confidentiality and integrity at all times.
* Ensure accurate specimen coding documentation.
* Comply with established policies, procedures, Work Health and Safety guidelines, and Quality Assurance processes.
Requirements:
* Valid Australian driver's license with an excellent driving record.
* Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder communication.
* Strong written communication skills.
* Effective time management skills, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Physical capability to handle equipment weighing regularly up to 10-15 kg.
* Ability to follow instructions and exercise initiative when making decisions.
* Previous experience in a similar role is highly advantageous.
* Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
* Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa allowing work permission.
