Overview
The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Vision is "A world where all kids thrive".
RCH is a cornerstone member of the Melbourne Children's Campus, partnering with the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics and The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.
RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years.
A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided, including tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states.
The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds.
Annually, RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.

The Role
We are currently seeking a permanent part-time Cleaner to work 60 hours per fortnight (6 hour shifts, 5 days per week, Monday to Friday).
Hours are between 8:30am and 5:00pm, with some flexibility provided.
You will be responsible for
Ensuring appropriate standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the RCH Mental Health Travancore campus, consistent with Infection Control guidelines and Cleaning Standards for Victorian Health Facilities (commercial or medical cleaning experience is required).
Vehicle delivery and pickup of items required for RCH mental health office locations in a secure and timely manner (training will be provided).
Your well-developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities are required to work within a team environment.
Customer focus, initiative and attention to detail will enable you to provide a high-level service to consumers, families and RCH staff.
Classification
: JJ9 – $53,508.00 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation.
What you'll achieve
Commitment to service excellence.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a diverse team.
Cleaning of internal buildings and external areas in accordance with Victorian health facility cleaning standards, including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, handling chemicals, rubbish removal, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, stocking cleaning supplies, maintaining equipment, and some outdoor cleaning.
Driving an automatic company fleet vehicle between mental health outpatient sites and other locations as required.
Transporting of items across sites including mail, stores items, medical records, computer equipment and other items as required.
Your skills and experience
Demonstrated cleaning experience in commercial, hospital or office environments is essential.
This is an office environment (non-clinical) and not located at the main hospital building.
Knowledge and experience of infection control principles and procedures and the ability to safely handle commercial chemicals is essential.
A clean and current full Driver's Licence for Victoria (up to 1.25 tonnes) – essential.
Basic computer skills and well-developed written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated customer service ability – essential.
Ability to work closely with Environmental Service Officers, sharing workload and communicating effectively to achieve results.

About the Department
RCH Mental Health comprises hospital-based (Parkville) and community services, including multidisciplinary outpatient teams based at Travancore, Sunshine/Brimbank and Tarneit.
