Media Officer
Full‐time Temporary position with the possibility of permanency.
Promotes the Health and Community Services Directorate's initiatives and programs by crafting compelling narratives and building strong relationships with Canberra media outlets. The role requires working under tight deadlines, reading between the lines, creating front‐page stories, and maintaining a professional yet relaxed work environment.
This position is a temporary role for six months, with potential extension to 12 months and possible permanency. Flexible working arrangements are available, including hybrid work, part‐time hours, job‐sharing, and flexible start and finish times.
Eligibility and Requirements
* Minimum of two years experience in a government media advisory role or comparable newsroom environment.
* Direct involvement in media relations, issues management and stakeholder engagement.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations or a related discipline (desirable).
* Current driver's licence (desirable).
This role does not include social media or media buying.
