Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for a Nurse Unit Manager, Emergency Department to join us in a permanent full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield – opening early.
* This state-of-the-art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it's set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational / clinical management and leadership to the Emergency Department in partnership with nursing, medical, allied health and administrative teams
Identifying and implementing opportunities for clinical service development and improvement in collaboration with the Patient Care Manager and General Manager
Achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care across Mater Health
Maintain current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
Developing, improving and monitoring systems and processes to ensure service is managed effectively and efficiently
Professionalline management of the nursing team
Leading by example to provide high level clinical care for our patients
Utilising expert level communication strategies to guide the team in achieving the unit's goals
Qualifications and Experience
5 years post-graduate specialty nursing experience, preferable in the unit's specialties
Current AHPRA nursing registration with no restrictions
* Solid understanding of private health care
* Proven use of exceptional communication skill to motivate and lead a team to achieve goals
* Strong change management skills and influencing / negotiating experience
* Demonstrated competence in cost centre management
* Willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
