The Apps Support Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. It applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributes to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflows for the area or function. It integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area and coordinates with the function and overall business. It evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, balancing alternatives and using multiple sources of information. It requires good analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate complex material from multiple sources. It involves strong communication and diplomacy, and regular informal/formal leadership within teams, coaching and training of new recruits. It has significant impact in terms of project size and geography, and the individual can influence decisions through advice and facilitation. The work and performance of teams in the area are directly affected by the individual.


Responsibilities

* The Application Support Senior Analyst provides technical and business support for users of Citi Applications, delivering quick resolutions to app issues and driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements.
* Maintain application systems that are in daily operations after development.
* Manage, maintain, and support applications and their operating environments with a focus on stability, quality, and functionality against service level expectations.
* Start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover.
* Perform same-day risk reconciliations.
* Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
* Identify ways to maximize the potential of the applications used.
* Assess risk and impact of production issues and escalate to business and technology management in a timely manner.
* Ensure storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly.
* Define scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution.
* Review and develop application contingency planning to ensure availability to users.
* Prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements in partnership with development and production support areas.
* Participate in application releases from development through testing and deployment into production.
* Engage in post-implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality.
* Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues; communicate impact.
* Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
* Act as liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors.
* Raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams while adhering to SLAs.
* Act as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts and provide evaluative judgment in complex scenarios.
* Directly impact the business by ensuring quality of work of self and others; communicate effectively across teams.
* Own support project items covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
* Perform other duties as assigned with limited supervision and independent judgment.
* Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members and escalate control issues with transparency.
* Adherence to Citigroup policies and applicable laws with ethical judgment.


Qualifications

* Experience in an Application Support role.
* Experience installing, configuring or supporting business applications.
* Experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn.
* Advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization.
* Effective written and verbal communications, including ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to non-IT staff.
* Demonstrated analytical skills.
* Issue tracking and reporting using tools; knowledge of problem management tools.
* Good all-round technical skills and ability to share information with other support team members and technology teams.
* Ability to plan and organize workload and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
* Consistently strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholders.


Education

* Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
