We are partnering with a leading global financial services group seeking an experienced Senior Direct Tax Manager to join their high-performing Tax team.
This is a strategic and technically focused role that will shape the organisation's tax approach, support senior leadership and ensure best practice across compliance, governance and advisory matters.

Role
This position will lead all aspects of direct tax across the group, covering tax compliance, advisory and risk management.
You'll provide technical guidance on complex tax matters, contribute to the development of tax strategies and work closely with finance and commercial teams to embed sound tax principles into business operations.
The role is advisory in nature, requiring someone who can translate technical insight into practical, commercial solutions.
You will also play an important mentoring role to the broader tax team, providing guidance and review support to direct tax specialists and analysts.
This position reports to the General Manager of Tax and offers broad exposure to senior stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and deliver all aspects of direct tax compliance, reporting and risk management
Advise on the tax implications of business initiatives, contracts and transactions
Develop and maintain tax governance frameworks and internal controls
Support tax accounting and reporting requirements in line with financial standards
Provide thought leadership on emerging tax issues and regulatory changes
Collaborate with Group Tax and external advisers as needed
Mentor and support junior members of the tax team
About You
10+ years of direct tax experience in financial services, insurance or corporate environments
Deep technical expertise across income tax and transfer pricing
Ability to apply advisory insights into practical, commercial implementation
Proven experience managing complex tax compliance and governance processes
Strong stakeholder management skills and sound commercial judgment
Background in insurance highly regarded
