About the Role

The Village Security Supervisor ensures the safety of our residents through the management of a security contract, security controls and managing/investigating security events. The role works in close collaboration with multiple village stakeholders which include accommodation operations and village service providers.

This role is based at Moranbah on a flexible roster and will provide travel arrangements for the right candidate.

In this role you will:

1. Ensure conformance and uphold the Whitsunday Regional Council's policies and procedures.
2. Have an overriding commitment to health, safety, risk management, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
3. Analyse and implement improvements to security related systems, processes, and procedures within our villages.
4. Provide specialist/functional expertise to leadership on security related management systems, processes, practices and controls.
5. Design and implement security controls to mitigate security related risks within our villages.
6. Coordinate and manage security incidents that occur in our villages to promote effective response.
7. Investigate and report village security events.
8. Engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
9. Support a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching our contracted security team.
10. Support the management of a security contract, including coaching and mentoring front line security officers.

About You:

1. You must hold an Australian Drivers Licence.
2. You should hold a current QLD Class 1 Security Provider Licence - Unarmed monitoring and crowd controller (highly desirable).
3. You should have a nationally recognised security qualification - Certificate II or above (highly desirable).
4. You should have 3 years of relevant security experience (or equivalent in areas such as military/policing) (highly desirable).
5. You are able to build meaningful partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
6. You can work in a small team environment.
7. You have demonstrated commitment to health, safety, environment, and community.
8. You have a high attention to detail.
9. You have a high level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
10. You have high written and verbal communication skills.
11. You have a drive to continuously improve.
12. You are highly competent in the usage of Microsoft 365 programs (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
