About The Role
Challenge Foster Care, part of Challenge Community Services, is seeking a compassionate and professional Supervised Contact Worker to organise and supervise family and sibling contact for children and young people in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC).
This role plays a vital part in ensuring contact visits are safe, structured and supportive, while always prioritising the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.
You will work closely with Case Workers, carers and families to facilitate meaningful connections and provide accurate, factual reporting following each contact session.

Duties
Organise and supervise family and sibling contact visits for children in OOHCEnsure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people during all contactProvide emotional support to children and young people before, during and after contactMaintain professional, appropriate communication with carers and birth familiesComplete accurate, objective and timely written contact reportsAdhere to all relevant legislation, policies and child protection standardsMaintain confidentiality at all timesParticipate in team meetings and relevant trainingEnsure contact environments are safe and compliant with WHS requirements
Essential
Skills and Experience:
Experience working with children and families in complex situationsStrong analytical, interpersonal and written communication skillsAbility to manage and supervise complex family and sibling contact autonomouslyHigh-level negotiation and mediation skillsAbility to adapt to changing circumstances and organisational needsDemonstrated ability to produce accurate, factual and high-quality written reportsCompetent in Microsoft OfficeAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamEmpathy and commitment to improving outcomes for children and young peopleDriver’s Licence, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Worker Screening CheckAbility to pass a National Criminal History CheckAccess to a personal vehicle for work use, if requiredAbility to work both weekdays and weekends
Desirable
Qualifications in Human Services (Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services or related field)
