Location: Devonport/Shorewell Park (Intermittent travel to Hobart will be required)

Employment type: Permanent Full Time

Salary: SCHADS Level 4.1 $90,468 + super + salary packaging

About The Role

As an Allocations Officer, you'll play a key role in matching people with homes across Housing Choices Australia's property portfolio. You'll manage the end-to-end allocations process for a range of housing types—social, affordable, market, and SDA—ensuring transparency, fairness, and efficiency.

You'll work closely with internal and external partners to assess housing applications, coordinate property viewings, and complete sign-ups for new residents. This is a hands‐on, people-focused role with a direct impact on resident outcomes.

Key responsibilities include

* Coordinate the allocations process for new and vacant properties in your state
* Assess housing applications, eligibility and supporting documentation
* Conduct onsite viewings and sign-ups across multiple locations
* Collaborate with Housing Officers and support services to ensure seamless handovers
* Maintain accurate records and manage vacant property turnaround timelines
* Contribute to the marketing of housing opportunities and support applicant engagement
* Prepare KPI and compliance reporting and support continuous improvement of processes

About You

You will have:

* Experience in housing, community services, or a related field (or transferable skills)
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* Great communication and customer service abilities
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced environment
* Knowledge of social and affordable housing or willingness to learn
* Sensitivity to the needs of vulnerable communities
* Current driver's licence and willing to travel as needed.

You must agree to undergo any required employment screening, including but not limited to a National Criminal History or Police Check, Working with Children or Vulnerable Persons Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
