Registered/Enrolled Nurse – Trauma-Informed Interventional Psychiatry
Geelong | Casual with view to Permanent
About the Role
Karunya Health is not your typical clinical environment. We are a specialised Ketamine clinic in Geelong (Rippleside) dedicated to treatment-resistant mental health conditions. We operate through a trauma-informed lens, recognising that healing requires more than just medication—it requires safety, presence, and a holistic approach to the nervous system.
We are seeking a Registered Nurse and/or EN who understands that \"holding space\" is just as important as clinical monitoring.
What We Are Looking For
We are searching for a practitioner who lives and breathes personal wellness. You will be a perfect fit if you bring:
* A Trauma-Informed Approach: You understand how to create a \"container\" of safety for patients undergoing deep psychological work. You are skilled in de-escalation, grounding techniques, and empathetic listening.
* The Art of Holding Space: You possess the quiet confidence and emotional maturity to sit with patients during vulnerable moments without feeling the need to \"fix\" or \"rush\" their process.
* A Holistic Mindset: You likely have an interest in—or a background in—counseling, psychology, or somatic therapies. You understand that mental health is intrinsically linked to the body.
* Wellness-Oriented: We value candidates who are personally committed to exercise, yoga, or mindfulness. We believe that nurses who prioritize their own movement and self-care bring a more grounded energy to our patients.
* Personal Evolution: You are self-curious and motivated by personal growth. You aren't just looking for a job; you're looking for a practice that aligns with your values of reflection and self-awareness.
Core Responsibilities
* Provide high-level clinical care and monitoring during Ketamine/Esketamine treatments.
* Facilitate a calm, therapeutic environment from intake to discharge.
* Utilize basic counseling-based communication to support patients through their treatment journey.
* Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to ensure trauma-informed care is consistent across all touchpoints.
Requirements
* Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse/Enrolled Nurse).
* Experience in Mental Health is highly preferred.
* A minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience is required.
* A commitment to your own self-care and reflective practice.
Why Karunya Health?
We are a growing clinic that prioritises the well-being of our staff as much as our patients. This role begins as casual to allow for a mutual \"vibe check\" and integration into our culture, with a clear intention to transition to permanent as we scale.
How to Apply
Please send us your CV along with a cover letter that tells us a bit about your own professional journey, your interest in trauma-informed care, and how you stay grounded (be it through yoga, exercise, or other practices).
