Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Officer to support investigations into the molecular mechanisms of congenital heart defects and cardiomyopathies in children with rare genetic disorders. Working under the direct supervision of the Group Lead, the Research Officer will assist in delivering high quality experimental and technical research services to support the lab's program outcomes. This is a 12 month fixed-term, full-time appointment at Monash Clayton campus with a salary of 83,424 to 95,825 per annum HEW 5 plus 17% superannuation. Job No.: 683734.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in vitro experiments, including stem cell culture, cardiac differentiation, and data collection.
Perform routine laboratory procedures and assist with equipment maintenance and calibration.
Maintain detailed, accurate records of experimental methods, results, and protocols.
Manage lab inventory, including ordering and tracking laboratory supplies.
Support preparation of reports, publications, and presentations related to research findings.
Comply with safety protocols, ethical regulations, and established research procedures.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or related field.
Experience with cell culture, ideally hiPSCs or hESCs.
Sound knowledge of molecular biology techniques and standard lab procedures.
Strong organizational, communication, and data analysis skills.

This role requires experience with human induced pluripotent stem cells hiPSCs and human embryonic stem cells hESCs, a degree in Biological Science, and experimental protocols within molecular biology.
