Intensive Care Registrar – CICM Trainees Preferred
Position
The Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) at Royal Hobart Hospital has two Intensive Care Registrar positions available to cover upcoming parental leave. The first position commences at the end of April 2026 and the second at the start of July 2026. Both positions end 1 February 2027. Extended contracts into 2027 may be considered for suitable candidates.

Salary
$134,930 – $189,005 per annum, in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.
Employment Details
Fixed term, full‐time day work, 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time (pro rata).
Eligibility & Requirements
* General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable).
* Registration/licences must remain current and valid at all times.
Legal and pre‐employment checks will be conducted, including conviction checks, identification checks and disciplinary action checks.
Desirable Clinical Experience
* Previous clinical experience in Intensive Care Medicine, Anaesthesia and/or Emergency Medicine.
* Competence in relevant procedural skills.
* Completion of practical acute care and resuscitation courses (ALS, BASIC, APLS, EMST, POCUS).
* Accredited trainees with CICM, ANZCA, ACEM and/or ACRRM.
* Experience in audit, research, teaching and safety/quality initiatives.
* Leadership experience within or outside work.
* For Senior Registrars & CICM TY Fellows: minimum three years clinical experience, including 24 months recent IC experience; completion or near completion of CICM Primary Examination and fellowship exams.
