MOIRA Your Journey takes a person-centred approach to providing innovative programs and practical services to support young people across Melbourne and throughout Victoria.

About the role:

MOIRA Your Journey support young people aged 15 -25 on their journey towards independence. Your Journey aims to support young people through development frameworks that equip young people with confidence and resources they need to live independently. Your Journey support young people via Better Futures & Homestretch, Targeted Care Packages and Housing & Homelessness services.

Your Journey aim to improve the outcomes of young people and enable them to achieve their goals and aspirations. Underpinned by the Advantage Thinking practice framework support is tailored to meet the individual needs of young people in both group sessions and via individualised support to increase their social and economic participation.

The Community Youth Coach is a pivotal role which drives opportunities for young people to develop meaningful and sustainable relationships within their community. This is achieved by building access to new pathways, networks and resources. The Community Youth Coach will also have responsibility for delivery and innovation of Your Journey's Life & Living Skills program.

Key responsibilities will include:

* The development and delivery of the life and living skills group programs in line with program guidelines.
* Provide one to one living skills sessions to eligible young people as required.
* Provide flexible, holistic and tailored coaching to young people, in line with the Advantage Thinking Framework.
* Identify and develop community engagement opportunities for eligible young people.
* Represent MOIRA at Care Team Meetings and community of practice sessions.
* Work withing the required funding framework, program guidelines and comply with statutory requirements where required.
* Accurately complete and maintain all necessary records, report and case notes in accordance with funding and best practice guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

* A Tertiary qualification in youth work, counselling, community services or other relevant discipline (or working towards this qualification).
* Proven experience in the delivery of services to young people experiencing complex behaviours.
* Direct capability in the delivery of services to young people
* Experience working with young people and delivering group programs (highly regarded)
