We are actively seeking an experienced Underground High Voltage Electrician to join us in our African Operations on a 6 week on, 3 weeks off roster – Geita, Tanzania .
The ideal candidate will come with the following experience & knowledge .
* Be conversant with Australian AS NZS electrical installations – AS NZS 3008.1.1 -1998 selection of cables – AS NZS 3017 – 2001 testing & inspection guidelines.
* Possess current Australian electrical licence – unrestricted.
* Have completed a high voltage switching course.
* Have experience with Flygt pump repairs & maintenance – oversee rebuilds of pumps to maintain spare pumps for immediate use.
* High voltage installations & testing – including inline joins, 11kv plug terminations.
* Supervisory and Training experience a MUST.
This position is a hands-on role and is responsible for transferring skills to National electrical personnel in HV preventative, scheduled and breakdown maintenance at the mine site, with all work performed safely and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Carry out scheduled (1000v, 11kv and 33kv) electrical servicing in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations, and the service sheet.
* Carry out all repairs in accordance with AUMS procedures.
* Completes all service sheets and documents additional repairs completed during servicing.
* Maintains a high level of housekeeping in the workshop and working areas at all times.
* Read and interpret service and spare parts manuals.
* Advise the electrical workshop supervisors of parts used and any additional part requirements.
* Train and mentor National electrical personnel to support a constructive team environment.
* Report all equipment faults to the Electrical Foreman for scheduling into the weekly electrical maintenance plan.
* Monitor shift reports – schedule any outstanding work from the previous shift.
* Monitor the availability of tools and test instruments given to the national employees and carry out weekly inspections of tool bags.
