**Your opportunity**:
A fantastic opportunity is available to join our talented Events team, at an exciting time of growth and development for our brand. The Event Manager will have an exceptional opportunity to take ownership of all corporate events at Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel.
You will be able to develop your skills while being motivated by the Sydney lifestyle, surrounded by major Sydney icons. With no two guests being alike, our service style reflects this. We believe in delivering mind-blowing services, tailored to the unique needs of our guests.
Reporting to the Director of Events, core work activities include:
- Event planning and execution, please note this is not a sales role.
- Ensures that corporate events are seamless through following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracy.
- Greets customer during the event phase.
- Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill.
- Manages group room blocks and meeting space for average to large-sized assigned groups.
- Identifies operational challenges associated with his/her group and determines how to best work with the property staff and customer to solve these challenges\ and/or develop alternative solutions.
- Participates in customer site inspections and assists with the sales process as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Delivers excellent customer service throughout the customer experience and encourages the same from other employees.
- Coordinates and communicates event details both verbally and in writing to the customer and property operations.
- Follows up with customer post-event.
- Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints, while using personal judgment and expertise to enhance the customer experience.
- Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
- Conducts formal pre
- and post-event meetings as required to review/communicate group needs and feedback.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

- Relevant qualifications in Hospitality, events and/or similar discipline with 3-5 years minimum experience within the Event industry.
