Senior Police Liaison Officer Role Overview

As a Senior Police Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in developing trust and understanding between the Queensland Police Service and local First Nations communities.
Your expertise will help inform and develop effective crime prevention and early intervention strategies that cater to the unique needs of these communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain relationships with local First Nations communities and stakeholders to identify opportunities for community-based programs and initiatives.
* Provide cultural advice and support to police officers to ensure culturally sensitive communication with community members.
* Work collaboratively with QPS members to strengthen community engagement and improve policing services for First Nations communities.
* Identify and link key stakeholders across police, community, and government agencies to support community-led programs and initiatives.
Requirements:
* A genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with community members and stakeholders.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
* Demonstrated knowledge of First Nations cultures and protocols, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
* Hold a Queensland 'C' class driver's licence or have the ability to acquire a driver's licence.
