Boilermaker
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will operate and maintain stationary engines, boilers, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, and associated mechanical plants.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analysing blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ascertain project requirements.
* Preparing metal stock by selecting, cleaning, and treating it accordingly.
* Utilising hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and metal cutting machines to cut marked-out metal sections and shapes.
* Utilising hand and machine tools, as well as heating and hammering techniques, to shape and bend metal sections and pipes.
* Ensuring precise alignment of parts using hand tools and measuring instruments.
* Joining metal sections through various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting methods.
* Inspecting welds for bead width, penetration depth, and overall precision.
* Finalising product finishing processes through cleaning, polishing, filing, and immersion in acidic solutions.
* Refining welds by employing filing, chiseling, and grinding techniques to achieve smooth surfaces.
* Performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are upheld.
* Conducting pressure tests on boilers, tanks, and other vessels to ensure structural integrity and safety compliance.
Requirements:
* Must have more than five (5) years of experience in a similar setting.
* Must possess a relevant Australian Trade Certificate.
