Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Mechanical fitters are skilled tradespeople responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment in industrial settings. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
1. Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment, including repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
3. Collaborate with other teams, including production, maintenance, and operations, to ensure smooth plant operations.
4. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory management, and quality control.
5. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for process enhancement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
* Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter/Fitter & Turner
* Experience in the meat, food manufacturing, or industrial processing sector
* Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work under pressure
* Competent in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and general mechanical repairs
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Safety-focused with excellent communication skills
Qualifications & Tickets (Highly Desirable)
* Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
* High Risk Licences (LF, WP, BS)
* Confined Space & Breathing Apparatus
* First Aid & CPR
* White Card
* Welding competencies
