The Role
D & T Hydraulics & Engineering is seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Administration professional to support our customers and internal teams. In this role, you will prepare quotations, maintain sales and reporting documentation, and act as a key point of contact for customer enquiries.
Working closely with the Sales Manager, Senior Sales staff, and the workshop, you will help ensure accurate information flow, strong customer relationships, and efficient internal coordination. Experience in quoting, particularly within manufacturing, mechanical workshop, or engineering environments is essential. Experience with hydraulic cylinders is highly regarded but not required.
Your Responsibilities
Sales Support & Customer Service
• Provide timely and professional customer service to D&T customers
• Prepare quotes, pricing, and product information using internal systems and databases
• Follow up on outstanding quotations and approvals
• Respond promptly to customer enquiries and maintain ongoing communication
• Build strong relationships with customers and key business stakeholders
Administration, Reporting & Coordination
• Maintain and update sales databases, CRM records, and customer documentation
• Prepare, track, and update reports including Weekly Customer WIP, KPIs, and dispatch documentation
• Create and manage job packs to support workflow through production
• Liaise with production, receivals, and dispatch to ensure customer requirements and expediting requests are met
• Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for internal stakeholders
• Support debtor follow-up activities as required
• Assist with job ticketing, filing, scanning, photocopying, and other administrative duties
• Provide backup support to other administrative positions, including leave coverage
• Use ARIBA, Felix and other procurement or enterprise systems to support quoting and sales processes
• Contribute to process improvements, quality functions, and administrative efficiency initiatives
About You
You will bring:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales administration, internal sales, quoting, or a similar role
• Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, mature approach
• Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and general system competency
• Experience with ARIBA & Felix (highly desirable)
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to prioritise work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
