Our team at Murdoch University provides a unique opportunity for Veterinary Nurses to grow and develop their skills in a state-of-the-art teaching hospital. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Veterinary Nurse to join our small animal surgery referral service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality veterinary nursing care to animals, adhering to the Certificate IV of Veterinary Nursing and Prescribed Duties of Veterinary Nurses within the Vet Surgeons Act of WA.
* Oversee patient care in the patient wards and during and after procedures.
* Communicate with clients, referring veterinarians, and the general public through various means such as phone calls, emails, and messages.
* Instruct students on instrument preparation, surgical site preparation, aseptic techniques, and monitor their application and maintenance.
Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent, or a relevant Veterinary Nursing Diploma level qualification registrable in Western Australia.
* Confidence and skill when handling and restraining small animals.
* Excellent organisational, time management, and workload prioritisation skills, including meeting strict deadlines.
* Highly effective communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, interacting constructively and collaboratively with staff at all levels.
* Ability to use initiative, assume responsibility, and resolve problems.
