Job Overview
* We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on, field-focused role that involves delivering technical service, digital support, and field-based maintenance for various systems.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising equipment uptime, ensuring stable system performance, and supporting customers to achieve optimal production outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Service and Maintenance
* Install, commission, and maintain systems, including cameras, sensors, server equipment, networking hardware, PLC/automation components, and monitoring systems.
* Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, digital, and networking technologies.
* Conduct scheduled and preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
2. Digital and Network Support
* Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networks, switches, routers, wireless systems, VPN connections, and server racks.
* Support customers with digital platforms and software tools (excluding AI-based monitoring).
* Assist with system integrations, data flow issues, firmware updates, and network performance issues.
3. Customer Engagement and Training
* Work directly with farmers, feeding operators, and technical staff to understand operational requirements.
* Deliver onsite and remote training in system operation and basic troubleshooting.
* Provide post-service reports, status updates, and recommendations.
4. Field and Marine Work
* Conduct work on marine barges, pontoons, vessels, and at land-based aquaculture sites.
* Undertake lifting and movement of equipment as required (within safe weight guidelines).
* Travel frequently within Tasmania and as needed elsewhere in Australia and New Zealand.
* Participate in rostered on-call duties.
