About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with leadership capability who is also comfortable stepping back into a supporting role as required, including acting as a back‐up for the Supervisor during periods of leave. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, bringing strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative approach to improving site quality and food safety performance. The role is a permanent night shift position working 10 pm – 6 am, Sunday – Thursday based at our Orchard Hills site.
What you'll be responsible for
* Working closely with cross‐functional stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives, audit readiness, and compliance with quality standards.
* Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of the site's Food Safety and Quality Management System under the guidance of the Senior Quality and Food Safety Manager and Supervisor.
* Assisting with the implementation and improvement of site‐wide GMP practices.
* Designing, delivering, and supporting training programs related to food safety and quality systems.
* Conducting internal audits and supporting external audits.
* Participating in HACCP reviews and contributing to the management of food safety plans.
* Managing non‐conforming raw materials and finished goods, investigating consumer complaints and reporting on findings and corrective actions.
* Reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Providing technical support and compliance guidance to the production team.
* Supporting commissioning and setup of on‐line and testing equipment.
* Leading and analysing data trends to support root‐cause investigations; troubleshooting issues raised in Operations and resolving quality‐related concerns in operations.
What you'll bring to the role
* Tertiary qualification (e.g. Food Science, Science or related field).
* At least two years' experience in a food safety or quality assurance role.
* Practical knowledge and application of HACCP principles.
* Experience conducting internal audits.
* Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Exceptional time management, organisational and planning skills.
