About the role:
This job ad is for a V.I.E. programme. To apply, you must be a European citizen aged *****, fluent in English, a graduate, and have no prior V.I.E. or work experience in the host country. The position offers a unique international experience with a leading Australian civil engineering company.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Technical Support
Track and report daily productivity.
Support cost control, estimating, and programme updates.
Manage work teams in the field.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)
Undertake all HSEQ responsibilities as defined in the Project's Management Plans.
Escalate any risks affecting safety, timelines, or costs.
Monitor and ensure construction quality in line with method statements and ITPs.
Commercial & Procurement Activities
Verify subcontractor claims and variations.
Support procurement activities and follow governance and finance processes.
Compliance, Competency & Continuous Improvement
Maintain required competencies through regular LMS updates.
Comply with all SWC policies, procedures, and training.
Keep knowledge current on legislation, standards, and industry practices.

You're looking for a role that mixes fieldwork with project coordination and are eager to get hands-on experience in construction.
You hold a master's degree in civil engineering or construction and have initial experience in roadworks or civil engineering projects.
You make Health & Safety a priority and actively contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
You're comfortable using digital tools, especially Excel, and can support planning tasks such as updating short-term schedules or reviewing project programs.
You bring an analytical, detail-oriented mindset and confidence navigating basic contractual procedures and working with stakeholders.
You're comfortable with the fast pace and direct communication of construction sites, and your can-do attitude helps you face challenges head-on.
You've got strong interpersonal skills, enjoy being part of a team, and are curious and open to adapting and integrating quickly.
You speak fluent English and feel confident communicating in any context—on site, in meetings, or day-to-day—and are excited about the opportunity to live and work in Australia.
You have your driver's licence and are ready to move between sites if needed.
